# About DaycareMap BC

## What DaycareMap BC is

DaycareMap BC is a directory of group child care centres listed in British Columbia's Child Care Map dataset. Each listing page shows what we know about one child care centre.

## Where the data comes from

We take records from the sources below.

- [Government of British Columbia Child Care Map Data](https://catalogue.data.gov.bc.ca/dataset/child-care-map-data). License: Open Government Licence - British Columbia. Data updated by hand.

## A listing is a record, not an endorsement

A listing shows what we know about one child care centre. It does not mean that we recommend it.

## How a listing is checked

Every published listing has its own page, and search engines can index it.
